For our June service we will be focussing on the role of music in the mission of the church, from Gregorian Chant through to modern worship music. Evensong has been a defining musical feature of the church of England for hundreds of years, but has died out in most rural parishes. Through this "come and sing" approach, we hope to revive this glorious musical tradition in Cawston.
If you're a singer and would like to learn how to sing Evensong, then come along at 2pm. We will learn some chants, hymns and an anthem. Refreshments will be provided during the afternoon along with expert guidance from experienced church musicians.
The service will begin at 6pm in church and all are welcome to come and hear what has been learnt in the afternoon.
The service will be followed by wine and nibbles.
