Not strictly a musical event, but a fundraiser for our village community choir. It takes place at Cawston Village Hall starting at 7.30pm.
Entry is free and is open to everyone so please bring your friends and family. You can buy a horse and place bets - please bring cash for this. There will also be a paying bar and we will take cash and card for this.

In this workshop session, Rev'd Andrew Whitehead will teach you all songs of worship from around the world. There will be short chants from Africa and South America, plus new hymns you may not know. Be prepared to learn something new - you may even go away with a few ear-worms!
There's no cost to attend, but donations to the Church will be welcomed.

The amazing Cawston Parish Church is the venue for exciting East Anglian folk musicians, Georgia Shackleton and Aaren Bennett who are touring Georgia’s new album ‘From the Floorboards’, alongside traditional East Anglian material from ‘Harry’s Seagull’. Self penned and traditional songs and tunes rooted in history, the sea, and storytelling.
Joined on tour by guitarist Aaren Bennett, Georgia weaves her distinctive songwriting together with traditional songs penned by Shackleton and his crew while stranded in Antarctic ice, as well as East Anglian folk material, creating a seamless dialogue between past and present. Expect an immersive journey through icy seas, eroding coastlines, and living oceans - honouring early explorers while reflecting on today’s fragile marine world.

If you've ever anted to sing evensong but never had the chance, you'll be very welcome to join our scratch choir for the Evensong in Haveringland on the 28th June. We'll have 2 rehearsals to get to grips with hymns, chants and maybe an anthem. If you can't make both rehearsals, don't worry - come to what you can.

Type of Event - Act of Christian Worship
The Norwich Taizé Group will lead us in an act of worship in the style of Taizé, the French community renowned for its contemplative character and easily-sung short chants. The Norwich Taizé Group lead regular services at St Luke's in Norwich.
If you'd like a chance to learn the chants, then come at 6pm for a short run-through of the music. The service starts at 6:30pm and will be followed by refreshments.

On the evening of the 27th June our community choir will bring a varied programme of music for your entertainment, and there may be some opportunities to sing along too!
For this event the Community Choir will be joined by CAWrus (Cawston Primary Academy's Choir), Weston Longville's "Singing for All" Choir.
Doors will open at 6:30pm and a bar will be available, selling beers wines and soft drinks.
Tickets are available on the door and are priced at £5 per adult (under 18s free)

For this final event of the festival, we extend our parish boundaries to include the nearby village of Haveringland. The church in Haveringland is dedicated to St Peter, whose Feast Day falls at the end of June. We will celebrate with a service of Evensong.
If you're a singer and would like to learn how to sing Evensong, then come along on Tuesday 23rd at 11:30 and/or Thursday 25th at 2pm. We will learn some chants, hymns and an anthem ready for the evensong service on the Sunday.
The Sunday service will begin at 6:30pm in church and all are welcome.
The service will be followed by wine and nibbles.
